Then you should do a re-read or re-watch-some have bad things to say about the movies but I thought they were pretty good. These Ents look like trees and the move super slow and are near immortal. They are like forest guardians- this tree looked so out of place when I found it not to mention all the rest of the park’s trees had already turned colors, I just couldn’t resist a goofy little poem about the poor Ent who was trying to keep the last of the green ones safe from winter. 😊

I have a lot of things to re-read/watch. My brain can only hold so much. Thanks for the explanation, and I’ll try to recall what has been lost along the way.

Oh, just read and watch what brings you joy…just because I am obsessive with middle earth fantasy doesn’t mean everyone is. I am just thankful you take time to read my often silly posts! 🥰🙏🏼😊✨✨

Wow! Sure looks like an Ent to me.....

It may be just how my mind works, but I spend a lot of time in wilderness areas, and even in remnant urban forest, and there always seems to be, in any such place, one particularly special tree. Not always the largest, and not necessarily the oldest, but a tree which feels like a guardian, or a centre point. My Australian Aboriginal friends mights say "a tree elder."

You certainly found one!

My poem "Appearance" is about one such example - a group of Dryads... https://davidkirkby.substack.com/p/appearance

(Hi Tracy - I just dropped in because you liked - and restacked - my "How To Find One." Sincere thanks for that! You maybe found it via Jed's restack? Sometimes Substack seems like a weird forest to me. I end up wandering for hours, and finding lovely things...)

Best Wishes from Australia - Dave :)

What a delightful comment and pleased to “meet” you! Jed is wonderful and I often look up his likes and mentions as our taste seems to run similarly. I can’t wait to read your poem later tonight. Sitting in a restaurant with my grand at the moment and too distracted to fully appreciate it. Thanks so much for taking time to read, comment and share similar interests/thoughts. 🥰😊😊

Anyway - I don't mean to interrupt you meal.
