Thank you
- great prompts, so fun!She carried it every morning and night out to the barn to check on the animals. It gifted her a little bubble of protection against darkness…but sometimes malevolent voices seemed to hiss just beyond its light. Mother said she was foolish, full of too many fairy stories from Grand. After Grand died, the lantern’s light grew more diminutive and her walks became fraught with trembling causing the lantern’s casting to look like a macabre dance against playful, inviting shadows. All at once, she knew that she had let her little light shine long enough - time to embrace the darkness.
That's an awesome twist at the end. Love it, Tracy.
